Authors

Abstract

The study proposes to think about Brazilian education, focusing on teacher health and the direction of contemporary society. Technological advances impose transformations whose effects have a superlative impact on work relationships. The study aimed to investigate aspects of servitude and pauperization of teaching work, with an impact on the entire working class. We sought to highlight a “social issue” as a result of the desire for capitalist accumulation, culminating in servitude and precarious work. The methodology was anchored in resources common to qualitative research, of an exploratory and bibliographic nature. Data collection was carried out by searching for periodicals in the area of Education on Google Scholar and on the CAPES periodical portal, between the years 2019 and 2022. To interpret the data, we opted for the content analysis technique, based historical-cultural based on information obtained through studies by some authors involved with the topic. It focused on understanding teacher precariousness, in light of the debate on the construction of the social being, worker health, the role of unions, as well as the emergence of new classes of workers. Modern capitalist logic and its direct impacts on teacher illness were observed, whether in the physical, mental and/or social field.
